A lightweight Tempo alternative for logging Jira time
Tempo Timesheets is a timesheet system for a whole Jira site. Snaplog is a Chrome extension for one job: getting your own time into Jira quickly. If you only need the second, you may not need the first.
The short version
- Choose Tempo if your company needs timesheet approvals, billing or cost reports, or one tool rolled out to every team.
- Choose Snaplog if you just want to log your own Jira Cloud time without asking an admin to install and license an app.
Side by side

When Tempo is the better choice
- Managers approve timesheets each week or month.
- You bill clients from tracked time or report cost by project.
- Your company runs Jira Data Center, or wants one tool set up centrally for everyone.
If your company already uses Tempo for approvals, ask your Jira admin before logging time another way, so your hours land where they are reviewed.
When Snaplog is enough
- Your team logs time to Jira and nobody needs a separate approval step.
- You don't want a request to your Jira admin, or a license for every Jira user, just to log your own hours.
- You log after the fact and want drafts instead of an empty form.
